New Figure: Madoka Kaname The Beginning 1/8 Scale

I think I'm starting to re-discover my love for scaled figures! This figure is -amazing-. I snagged her on the pre orders for the re-run. I'm so glad I managed to get her because for a huge PMMM fan like myself, I think this a core piece any big PMMM fan should own. It's truly a work of art and I simply cannot get over how stunning she is. The sculpt is total perfection and based on the illustration by Ume Aoki and sculpted by Sakurazensen. If you'd like to just skip my fangirl ramblings about the figure you can see an overview and a video here!

I have to warn you this post is very image heavy, there are just so many perfect little details. It took me forever to attempt to capture them all.

The shading is so intricate on the dress and adds so much dimension to her pose. Plus I adore the delicate blush on her face, it's not too strong but still lights her face up.

I find the arch of her back fascinating, it can't be that comfortable in real life but then again, when was any pose related to SHAFT?

It was hard to capture for me but around the frill there is a soft pinky hue which gives more life and movement to her already fluid pose.

All those frills *___* it reminds me of a delicious cake hu hu... Anyway, the backs of her legs are so smooth, no lines or marks! You can also see the little detail on the end of the bow!

Bows!! Plus the realistic looking puff of her skirt.

That back arch >__< So elegant!

Perfectly puffy sleeves

You can see the bow doesn't quite rest in between her finger and thumb like you'd expect. I think is because she summons them anyway out of air so she doesn't really touch them...

The rose on the top end of her bow.

Her soul gem does gleam in the light, it wasn't sunny when I was taking pics though u_u

Flying on smoke!

This was my greatest mystery when ordering this figure. How will she stand up in that pose?! Well there is a metal pin that slots into Madoka's foot and she stands very firmly and well balanced! I think it's ideal to keep her somewhere where she's unlikely to get knocked though...Just in case... (note how the smoke has a lovely lilac hue to it!)

New Figure! Lucy Heartfilia

I ordered this beauty last week and she arrived today safe and sound. It's the beautiful celestial magician (or mage or ??) Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail! Here she is in full 1/7 scale glory sculpted by 'Masa' and manufactured by Good Smile Company.
I really enjoy Fairy Tail (though I am behind on the anime a bit) and I'm happy this is my first piece of merchandise related to it

. I first saw this figure at October London MCM Expo 2013 at the Good Smile Company stand though she wasn't for sale. Straight away I was captured by her beauty and the fluid pose. It's a pose that to me actually looks natural, as if she's in the middle of saying 'Hey you want a challenge? I'll give you one!' I'm a little fussy about poses and proportions but this one ticked all the boxes for me because she looks natural but utterly captivating.
In her hand is a celestial key which she seems ready to use, I wonder who she'd be summoning... Probably not Aquarius |D ;; Maybe Aries? I like Aries, she's so fluffy and would also make a great scaled figure (do it good smile do iiiiit).

Anyway, Lucy is painted perfectly and I am lucky that my figure possesses no markings or scratches. I accidentally scratched the base a tiny bit but it doesn't matter. Her bag and celestial key belt are removable. Without them she looks more like she's posing for a fan photo (perhaps for one of the local boys who lives near Fairy Tail). You can also remove her clothing for a more naughty look //blushes// but I haven't photographed that (yet).  I'm not really a good enough writer to go into deep detail about what I think of this figure but I am extremely happy with her and as my first scaled figure purchase for years I couldn't ask for a better one!

Onto the photos, enjoy!

Recent Merchandise Purchases

Here's another quick round up post of various merch and figures I have bought over the past couple of months! I have recently ordered a few more things and next weekend is MCM comic con so there will certainly be another one very soon!! :D I must warn you, this post is very image heavy!

First to show here is this beautiful Fennekin (from Pokemon XY) plush! It stands at around 41cm tall so it's pretty much life size! Naturally it's made by TOMY and the quality is honestly flawless. The material is soft and snuggly but doesn't bobble. The details are all accurate and I am really enjoying the squishy tail in particular! I believe it cost around £15 which is an absolute steal. They usually RRP around £30 something I think.

Next up is the wonderful but very evil Monokuma plush! I bought this from Mandarake for around £12 supposedly second hand but he is like new! Again, super soft good quality fabric and neat detailed stitching.

Now here's another pokemon plush: Sylveon! Ahh she's so pretty! This one I don't believe is official but still a lovely plush (though the 'ribbons' are a little messed up!) She was £15.

I'm starting to think I may have an addiction to plushes... My boyfriend is concerned about my growing obsession and so are a few of my friends. There's still room in my bed for me right now so that's okay right?? :P

This final plush purchase I got a few days ago: Fluttershy from the Build a Bear Workshop!!
I felt she was a good price at £19. I like the use of fibres for the hair but they're naturally a little cheap so they tangle easily which means cuddling her = tangles >__< Otherwise she's a flawless plush and in store they had the option to add a voice box with six Fluttershy phrases in it too. I opted out of that because I think I'd get tired of it heh.

Moving on from plushes, I pre-ordered this from Good Smile Company in March. It's the Nendoroid More Dress Up: Pyjamas! These are really sweet and considering I currently own around 26 nendos there's plenty of opportunities to play with these! Expect some shoots soon ^^/

Here are the full set of Madoka Magica: Rebellion movie mugs I got from AmiAmi recently! I really liked their simple but pretty design so felt they would be a lovely addition to my collection of PMMM items. On each one is a different pair of character silhouettes and matching colour scheme; Mami and Nagisa in yellow and a soft pink, Madoka and Homura in pink and purple and Sayaka and Kyouko in red and blue.

Final two purchases are these gorgeous Mami Tomoe and Madoka Kaname figures I found on Mandarake back in March. I paid around £30 for both of them

Recent fashion purchases round up

I've always meant to do posts like these more regularly but I don't always get the time or money to go shopping lol... Anyway, here's a small round up of a few purchases I've made over the past few weeks and months!

Primark:

I picked up this majestic unicorn long sleeved top and pretty minty pastel 'Tokyo' jumper recently.
I think they were both £8 each, a good price for a statement top and jumper.

I also got these acessories over the past few months. I adore the strawberry pastel feel snood! Perfect for throwing on over a jumper on slightly cooler days! I also needed some new sunglasses but couldn't decide between colours so I ended up getting both as they were only £1 each!!  I'm really loving all the flowery hair accessories they have in Primark right now too. I got this lovely peachy rose hair band, a cream rose 'top knot' bun hair band and a lovely corsage slide that doubles up as a pin too. Would look lovely pinned on a cardigan or blazer ^^

The last little bit I picked up from Primark was this glitter shadow palette. They're more like gels than eye shadows though. I'm looking forward to experimenting with them as under eye glitter is a big catwalk trend as of recently as well as glittery eye lids!

I purchased some Solo HD Beats headphones in light blue two weeks ago. I have to say I have no regrets, the quality is amazing and they're extremely comfortable! I've never gotton on great with headphones but these ones are a pleasure to use! Plus they're designed to use with iPhone (I have a pink 5c) which means I'm still free to answer calls and skip through music at my leisure when I'm out and about. They easily extend where needed without looking messy at all plus (not pictured) they come with a small soft case to store them in. Ideal for me as my bag is constantly full of rubbish!

I picked up these last two items from Camden Market last week so they weren't expensive and are really cute additions to my wardrobe. The watch is such a sweet design and matches all my pastel, girly themed stuff perfectly. Also picked up some glitter jelly shoes, a big trend again this summer. I'm going to Cornwall in July so these will be ideal for just chilling in around town and the beach :3
