Senbonzakura Miku Nendoroid

A while back this awesome version of Miku arrived. I did a quick little shoot with her in the rain so I have a few photos to share with you already. The details are very intricate and carefully painted. There aren't many flaws on this one that I've found. She comes with a few accessories including a bike! I haven't photographed the bike yet but naturally I will. It looks brilliant I promise you!

I wouldn't mind cosplaying this outfit, I love the influence on the style!

Tiny badges!

There's even detail on the back of her jacket.

new arrival! Wind Waker Link!

At last this adorable little hero is mine. I wanted him last year but he sold out very fast and any retailers carrying Link were asking for a lot more than the RRP (understandable considering his popularity). So I was pleased when they announced a re-run due for late June! I ordered Link from amiami and he come very fast via air mail. I was so surprised by his quick arrival I forgot it was him coming and got confused about what I'd ordered when the package arrived. Heh. Toon Link is my favourite version of the character, he is simply so cute and charming. Plus those big expressive eyes always capture my heart! I took a few quick photos as the sunset the other evening provided some beautiful greens and golds. I hope you like them. There will be more in the near future for sure, I just need to stop melting from the heatwave we're having here at the moment first!

My first time adding effects to a photo in this way, any constructive criticism is very welcome!

Mikuzukin!

This was a figure I was really looking forward to as I don't own any other figures bigger than a 1/8 scale; Miku is a grand 1/7! I paid around the £50 mark for her which I feel is very fair considering her scale and the high quality make up. When the prototype was previewed last year I was a little unsure on the design of her face but I'm glad I took the plunge in pre-ordering her because she looks a million times better than the prototype. I think I've processed about twice the amount of photos I'd normally do for a review of a figure but there's just so many details I enjoyed and wanted to share with you. So please bear with this image heavy post!
                                                                                      -Saffron.

Carefully lined hair to give depth and dimension plus brightly animated eyes brings her face to life. Her hair is a lovely rich teal colour which stands out well against the bright red.

I was really impressed by how neat the painting is, barely any mishaps on this figure.

The little fox on her head is the part I find the most charming about this outfit and one of the main reasons I want to cosplay it too! Just too cute!

Crisp, precise painting and realistic ruffles.

There's even shading around the creases to help give depth and a little realism to the pose.

The stand is simple but works in perfectly with Mikuzukin, it's sturdy but attractive.

Hard to shoot but there's plenty of corset detail on her back.

She slides straight onto the stand and despite being on one foot is very sturdy! Good job Max Factory.

Figma 001: Nagato Yuki

I've been feeling inspired by the beautiful blossoms that come out with spring recently so I did a bit of experimenting with editing and learning how to use manual focus more. I felt Yuki-san really fitted as the subject as her quiet, melancholy aura fits well with the hope and colours of spring. If you've seen the Disappearance film I think you will understand my feelings quite well. I'm not very good with words but I hope my feelings come across in my art to you.

Konohana Sakuya part one

Part one in a set I did of one of my favourite character Personas, Konhana Sakuya!
This is the D-Arts figure, she can be difficult to pose but the result is worth it. She is colourful and very graceful. I thought spring was an ideal time of year to profile her seeing as her beautiful 'wings' look so much like cherry blossoms to me.

Queen of the forest

I picked up this beautiful Asuna Yuuki figure recently. It depicts her in the outfit she was given in the ALO arc of the Sword Art Online story. Though a negative time for her, she looked beautiful and it's my favourite outfit of hers. I took a few profiles of her in my garden this week. I have big plans for some photos with her in the future, just need an assistant!
