As promised, the other half of the shoot I did with Sakuya! I have a few reviews I'm working on plus a cosplay shoot I did of my best friend Freyakins. So there will be a lot more material coming to this blog soon. In the mean time you can follow me on Facebook and Twitter for more regular updates and silly phone pic spam when new merch arrives. Also a shoutout to a good friend of mine who has just set up their own blog Shirobot! If you enjoy video games and coffee then please give him a follow.

If anyone wants a high res version of any of my photos from this post or others to use as a wallpaper just ask, you can tweet me, message me on facebook or email me amaikoibitochan@gmail.com!

Konohana Sakuya part one

Part one in a set I did of one of my favourite character Personas, Konhana Sakuya!
This is the D-Arts figure, she can be difficult to pose but the result is worth it. She is colourful and very graceful. I thought spring was an ideal time of year to profile her seeing as her beautiful 'wings' look so much like cherry blossoms to me.

Review: Kikkai rare anime goods

I have now purchased twice from a very pleasant seller on facebook known as 'Kikkai'.

You can see the page and browse items for sale here

They sell a range of rare and unusual anime & game related goods from Japan. I've seen quite a diverse range of items for sale that you'd really struggle to find on your own (if you're as clueless as me anyway hah). The items are always at very fair prices and postage is always fair too.

The first item I purchased was this lovely K-On! ceramic plate. The price was a very reasonable £10! I really liked this as I've never personally seen anything quite like it before. It's different and as a fan of K-On! it spoke to me as a nice piece to have on display in my room ^__^/
It was carefully packaged and arrived in good time after being shipped out. Kikkai is very good at keeping you up to date on your order too. I put a deposit on this as it was originally a Coming Soon item. Then once it had arrived to Kikkai I paid the remaining plus postage and it was quickly sent off to me.

The girls look so cute!

The second order I made was at the end of last week and arrived today. I bought four soft Madoka Magica cloths and a Persona 4: The Animation eye mask! All of these are really cute and the eyemask is really something else. Again, great communication and careful packaging of the items.

.

Rise Kujikawa eye mask plus SFX badge! Rise is my favourite Persona 4 character so I was pleased to see this. I had seen them online before but this was the first time I was able to purchase one. It was £8.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica soft cloths, £3 each. These are so cute, at first I only saw two and wanted them. But then Kikkai pointed out they had two more so I caved in and got all four. The bottom left one is my favourite; Valentines Mado x Homu <3

I can certainly say this won't be the last time I'll be purchasing from Kikkai. Plus I'll be looking forward to their stall at CamCon this summer!

Massive Update Time

I have been away from my blog for so long now. It wasn't intentional or through (total) laziness. My laptop broke whilst I was away at October London MCM Expo. So for about a month and a bit (I was so busy with other things in life) I had no laptop until it was fixed back in time for Christmas.

I'm only just coming back to it now though because I've still been really busy and had a little lack of inspiration really too... I have lots of new figures to photograph which is good and I'm starting to feel really creative again.
This is partly due to me getting a new camera! I'd been thinking over it for a long while and finally made a decision on the one I wanted and ordered it. I got a Nikon D3200 which seems to be a great entry level SLR. Perfect for me, I can't believe how heavy it is but after experimenting a little I've gotten used to handling it easily. Below I'll just give you a bunch of pics of my October MCM figure haul plus a few other new ones. Obviously I'll be doing proper shoots and such with these soon so please forgive these rushed snapshots!

Thanks <3

October London MCM Expo figure haul

Persona 4 Ultimate Rise Kujikawa!
This is my first Rise figure and I was really happy to grab her as Rise is my favourite Persona 4 character. The figure is a very good quality and I paid £22 for her I believe. I had to blu tack her bottom to the tvs though. I guess it would have been a bit controversial for her to have a little knob in her crotch/butt! :P

Next up, my most hyped figure I knew I wanted before I even went to the event. GSC nendoroid event exclusive Maiko ver Madoka Magica! She is so pretty and dainty I can't express it enough. I nearly cried when I picked her up because I was so excited. (I'm silly I know) I believe you can now order her off the GSC website but stock is limited. (Might be sold out now I don't know!) She was £35 if I recall correctly.

Now I had now idea I would get my hands on this charming lady at MCM. Persona 4 Ultimate Elizabeth! Arguably one of the best sculpts of her ever done really. Her pose is so fluid and every detail flawless from any angle. I paid about £22 for her too which is an incredibly fair price. I wouldn't recommend paying more than £30 (and that's a rip off) for any figure from this series though. £20-25 is the fairest price, anyone charging more for it brand new is taking advantage (which is common at events).

Final one from MCM is Homura Akemi. She was £20 from a seller who I recognise from previous events. I cannot remember his stall name though... I saw this on the Friday and held back from buying it. Then in the evening I kept thinking about her and ended really wanting it...(I guess that logic applies to shopping for anything really LOL) So on the Saturday I trailed through the heavy crowds (dragging my boyfriend and friend with me, sorry guys!) looking for the stall and thankfully they had two left as well as a Sayaka version too. The seller said she had been disappearing really fast so I'm glad I made the effort to go get her.

Right now onto the rest, here are the other new figs I've picked up between November and now. I have so many ideas for pics plus a lot of pics of one or two on my phone already. Will have to post them later.

GSC Nendoroid Mayoi Hachikuji

Petanko! Mini Puella Magi Madoka Magica blind box figs. I got School Madoka, Mami and Sayaka. Plus Magical Girl Sayaka.

Petanko! Rise Kujikawa and Yu Narukami

Prize fig Rise Kujikawa

(second hand on ebay for £7, bargain)

My most special and one of the oldest, original nendoroids; Tachokoma from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. This was £50 brand new and sealed from a very pleasant seller on Amazon.

Right that's everything 'updated' I guess for now figure wise. There is other stuff I should write about but I'm too hungry right now for that ;)

Yosuke Hanamura "Captain Ressentiment"

I picked Yosuke up back at MCM London Expo in May this year for about £20 I think. Hopefully that wasn't too overpriced for him.. This is from the Persona 4: The Ultimate in the Mayonaka Arena collection. I haven't played the game as it's not my type of game but I'm a Persona 4 fan so I was happy to have a Yosuke ^o^

Epic Sky Pose!

I was a bit confused at first because in the artwork both his kunai are pointing to the left but if you turn round his (detachable) right hand it pretty much blocks out his face haha! I think I will have to glue in the right hand though because it's not a very snug fit, I've had several "where did Yosuke's hand go?!" incidents now. It always turned up somewhere really awkward and I'm too lazy to keep looking ;)

Some facial detail here. The painting is pretty good, no weird smudges or bumpy bits. I feel the tips of his hair are a bit too rounded instead of pointy and defined. But that's just me being fussy I think :)

The kunai are so big :o

You can't quite see it here but I like how dynamic his jacket looks flapping at the corners. It really helps bring his mid-action pose to life!

Super Epic Sky Pose GOOOOO!

Last photo is another sky one but I love it more because of the plane trail in the sky! Plus you can see the awesome jacket here. The folds in the shoulders of the jacket look realistic and generally the proportion of the whole figure is spot on!
I should probably re-edit this to get rid of the yellow reflection of his stand though...
