Wonderful Hobby Life For You Festival, what I'm looking forward to!

I'm sure many of you enjoyed the glorious stream of figure announcements coming in over the weekend but also felt your wallets quivering in fear at the inevitable amount of money you may end up spending! I know I felt that way. There was plenty of good things shown and announced which I was happy to see though there's only maybe two or three I will be pre ordering at the moment. I only work part time so I can't afford more than that really. What I definitely know I'll be ordering is
This gorgeous 1/6 scale Rise Kujikawa Dancing All Night figure! The biggest figure I own is 1/7 so this will be amazing *__* I'm scared of how much she will cost though!

I'm also very excited to see that the Majora's Mask version of Link nendoroid has been painted!
He looks very strong and ready to fight, I hope we see his accessories soon. I'm sure all LoZ fans are hoping he will come with all the masks. It'd be a massive shame if he doesn't.

Other awesome announcements include the painted Kirby nendoroid, painted Marth nendoroid, Shiina nendoroid sculpt, a Persona 3 Evoker 1/1 scale garage kit (so much want wow!), Pokemon Trainer N nendo, Megaman nendo, Anna from Frozen nendo and a new Labrys figure!

They're also announced they're going to do a figma of the MC/Makoto from Persona 3!! I'm not a huge figma person but I feel I will definitely have to have this. It's hard to get your hands on the older Persona 3 merch these days. I'm so glad the movies have helped spur on new merchandise!

As I expected, there is an absolute stock pile of Love Live figures coming out, they're all beautiful but there's no way I can have all of them. I'm already planning to have all of the current set by the end of the year but I'm getting tempted by the training versions of the girls now! I think I may be able to restrain myself to just ordering the three main characters but I guess we'll see ;)

Also announced, a Captain America nendoroid! I think this will look adorable, he suits the style really well.

What caught your eye at the WonFes? Let me know :D

Senbonzakura Miku Nendoroid

A while back this awesome version of Miku arrived. I did a quick little shoot with her in the rain so I have a few photos to share with you already. The details are very intricate and carefully painted. There aren't many flaws on this one that I've found. She comes with a few accessories including a bike! I haven't photographed the bike yet but naturally I will. It looks brilliant I promise you!

I wouldn't mind cosplaying this outfit, I love the influence on the style!

Tiny badges!

There's even detail on the back of her jacket.

Mikuzukin!

This was a figure I was really looking forward to as I don't own any other figures bigger than a 1/8 scale; Miku is a grand 1/7! I paid around the £50 mark for her which I feel is very fair considering her scale and the high quality make up. When the prototype was previewed last year I was a little unsure on the design of her face but I'm glad I took the plunge in pre-ordering her because she looks a million times better than the prototype. I think I've processed about twice the amount of photos I'd normally do for a review of a figure but there's just so many details I enjoyed and wanted to share with you. So please bear with this image heavy post!
                                                                                      -Saffron.

Carefully lined hair to give depth and dimension plus brightly animated eyes brings her face to life. Her hair is a lovely rich teal colour which stands out well against the bright red.

I was really impressed by how neat the painting is, barely any mishaps on this figure.

The little fox on her head is the part I find the most charming about this outfit and one of the main reasons I want to cosplay it too! Just too cute!

Crisp, precise painting and realistic ruffles.

There's even shading around the creases to help give depth and a little realism to the pose.

The stand is simple but works in perfectly with Mikuzukin, it's sturdy but attractive.

Hard to shoot but there's plenty of corset detail on her back.

She slides straight onto the stand and despite being on one foot is very sturdy! Good job Max Factory.

Aegis

Charred Screw....

This nendoroid came out back in April 2014 and I picked her up later in the year. In my usual style I took photos a long while back but I've only just gotten round to sorting through them.

Sculpted by Isao Shirasagi, this version of the Aegis nendoroid has fully articulated joints allowing for many more poses with a really natural look. I really commend them on this design and I hope to see it in a few more nendoroids in the future. Perhaps it's an idea that could cross over into the figma range (I'm not a huge fan of the prominent joints).  Her delicate face is carefully painted and emulates the gentle demeanor she carries perfectly. Not to say she doesn't look great with her angry/determined face plate on though at all! The complex details across Aegis' body are painted carefully and nothing feels cheap about this figure whatsoever.
Determined face and rifle!

Accessory wise, Aegis comes with a nice variety of her weapons plus the very special Charred Screw (those who have completed the game will appreciate this <3). These combined with the ease of posing mean you can re create quite a variety of poses.
The accessories you can equip Aegis with are:

  • Cannon, can be attached to her left or right hand.
  • Rifle, complete with a little orange blast effect.
  • Blast effect pieces for her fingers. (plus detachable canon parts)
  • Rocket Punch, complete with skull and crossbones detail.
  • Charred Screw.

Onto the photos!

Lovely shading on her hair

glorious articulated limbs!
